“Austin’s Micky & the Motorcars continue to gain ground as one of the most in-demand regional bands on the current circuit.” – The Dallas Morning News

FORT WORTH, TEXAS –Fans of the popular roots-rock quintet, Micky and the Motorcars, will have the opportunity to be a part of the band’s first live album – and country music history – when they attend the June 26th  performance, Live at Billy Bob’s Texas. The CD/DVD combo will capture the bands raw energy while they perform some of their greatest hits and fan favorites, as the newest addition to the “Live at Billy Bob’s Texas” series. One lucky audience member will also go home with a guitar signed by the band!

The Motorcars have been talking about recording a live album for years but wanted to wait until the perfect opportunity presented itself… “Billy Bob’s is the biggest and best venue in Texas, with an amazing sound quality and a crowd that always listens and responds with an energy we can all feed off of.” –Gary Braun

Micky and the Motorcars – With four albums under their belt, Micky and the Motorcars are now established as one of the best-drawing bands on the lucrative Texas Music circuit. Their latest album, NAIVE, debuted in the Billboard Heatseakers Chart in August 2008 and spent an unprecedented 7 months on the Americana Chart peaking at #8.

Idaho natives, Micky Braun (lead vocals and acoustic, electric and rhythm guitar), and older brother Gary Braun (harmony vocals, drums and percussion), come from a long line of music tradition. Father, Muzzy Braun, was a folk legend in their home state of Idaho, and their other brothers, Willy & Cody Braun, have already made a name in Texas music and beyond, in the band Reckless Kelly. Other Micky and the Motorcars band members include: Mark McCoy (bass guitar), Kris Farrow (lead guitars), and Shane Vannerson (drums and percussion).

Live at Billy Bob’s Texas – The "Live at Billy Bob's Texas" CD and DVD series represents country music at its best! The combination of country music legends with the rising stars of Texas recorded live and on stage at the world’s largest honky-tonk has become quite a phenomenon. The series currently features over 35 recordings from country legends, including: Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Gary Stewart, John Conlee, David Allan Coe, and Asleep at the Wheel as well as a younger set of hard hitters like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jack Ingram, Pat Green, Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers Band, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Stoney LaRue and many more.

Micky and the Motorcars will take the stage of the world’s largest honky-tonk, Billy Bob’s Texas, Friday, June 26 at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are available thru Billy Bob’s box office (817) 624-7117 or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com. No reserved seating – all tickets are general admission at $12.  For additional information on Micky and the Motorcars visit www.mickyandthemotorcars.com. Interview times are available as well as reserved seating for press.

Texas Music Chart 3/30/09

by Bob Mitchell 31. March 2009 13:54

Not a bad Texas Music Chart for our Smith artists 2 in the Top 5. After 2 wonderful weeks at #1 on the TMC, our Honeybrowne single “Put That Ring Back On Your Finger” slips to #3 this week. Another Top 5 single for the men of No Justice. “Don’t Walk Away” leaps from #9 to #5. Solid week for our Micky and the Motorcars single “Long Enough To Leave.” Steady at #13. Yeah baby!! Jason Allen w/ Deryl Dodd “Jenny Lee” skyrockets from #19 to #14. Whiskey Myers “Lonely East TX Nights” is off a few spots to #20, but despair not o fans of great music. These fellows are young and resilient and I truly believe this single has some solid upward growth left in it. Another outstanding week for our Brandon Jenkins single “Till The Morning Comes” after that meteoric jump last week from #43 to #25. This week, #25 to #22. Maren Morris “Goodbye” checks in at #23 this week. That is the kind of week I was looking for on the Cody Gill Band. Our CGB single “King Of Your Hometown” jumps up 2 spots to #34.

The rest of TGB includes: Ryan Duncan, drums and backup vocals; Ken Chrostowski, bass guitar; Kit Koop, lead & rhythm guitar; and Josh Duggan on lead guitar. Most of the guys in TGB got their start playing in rock and country music bands, and it can be heard in their music.

McClure will be one of several musicians featured on the new album. The first single, “Always Something,” is sure to keep you moving and listening for more.  With influences from Texas Country pioneers like Cross Canadian Ragweed and Pat Green, the Tommy Gallagher Band has a smokin’ Texas music sound all their own.

Smith singles on the Texas Music Chart – 1/12/09

by Bob Mitchell 12. January 2009 11:14

Well..it is go time!! Our first Texas Music Chart of the year is this
coming Monday 1-19.

I am here in Fort Worth this week. A few days of meetings, then down to
Fredericksburg for KFAN’s Windows on Texas deal.

I had a great time in Steamboat for a couple of days. I fell on my ass
several times, yet had nary a drink!! As far as Smith acts, I got to hang
out with Fred Andrews from Honeybrowne (and his lovely wife Anne..in
addition to being Mrs. Fred, she is a KVET and KASE announcer), Brandon
Jenkins, our new artist Bo Cox (debut single in a few days), Rich O’Toole
and Micky and the Motorcars. The Motorcars played a great outdoor set in a
practical blizzard opening for Jack Ingram. Got to hang with Jack for a
bit. Our Jack Live at Billy Bob’s CD remains one of our top-sellers. And
of course I saw our concert and catalogue partners Ragweed and Randy
Rogers.
